    Summary of the Cantonal Court in Livno operative report for 2025

    The Cantonal Court in Livno is the highest instance of the judiciary in Canton 10. Under the jurisdiction of the Cantonal Court in Livno is the Municipal Court in Livno with its divisions in Tomislavgrad and Drvar.

    At the end of 2024, 288 cases remained unresolved in the Cantonal Court in Livno. During 2025, the Cantonal Court in Livno received 955 cases, so that in 2025 a total of 1.243 cases were pending. In 2025, a total of 1.018 cases were resolved, and this year the percentage of resolved cases in relation to the inflow is 106,60%. At the end of 2025, 225 cases remained unresolved, which is 63 cases or 21,88% less than at the beginning of the reporting period.

    The achieved collective norm of the court for 2025 is 92,58%, as the court operated under conditions of an insufficient number of cases for most of the year.

    The average duration of 1.018 resolved cases is 121 days, which is 49 days less than in 2024, when the average duration of cases was 170 days.

    The total number of decisions made in 2025 for which a legal remedy can be filed is 707, while the total number of appealed decisions is 66, and the total number of rejected legal remedies is 52. Out of the total number of appealed decisions, 52 decisions were confirmed, 4 amended, 8 revoked and 2 partially revoked.

    From the above data, it follows that the quality of court decisions is 90,07%.

    According to the annual Case Resolution Plan for 2025, the obligation to resolve 167 first-instance cases has been determined, while according to the 4 (four) quarterly Case Resolution Plans for 2025, the obligation to resolve a total of 298 cases has been determined. On 31st December 2025, 465 cases were resolved, so that the percentage of resolved cases from the plan is 100%.

    According to the official reports of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HJPC BiH), the Cantonal Court in Livno is among the leading courts in Bosnia and Herzegovina with achieved percentage of case resolution plans in the amount of 100%.

    In 2025, the Cantonal Court in Livno had no war crimes cases. It should be noted that the court so far finalized 8 (eight) war crimes cases, in 1 (one) case the proceedings are suspended due to the death of the accused, while in 1 (one) case the hearing was opened before the panel of the Supreme Court of Federation of BiH and in 2022 the accused is sentenced to one (1) year in prison. In the appeal procedure, the third-instance panel of the Supreme Court of Federation of BiH confirmed the previously imposed prison sentence, which at the end of 2023 the panel of the Supreme Court of Federation of BiH replaced with a fine.

    According to the data from the report, it is evident that this court achieved good work results in 2025, despite certain difficulties in its work.
